Why is it that the rich think they can get whatever they want,
whenever they want, however they want?
On July 3rd, I was performing at a private party in a partially built
house that obviously cost in the several hundreds of thousands of
dollars. This house was built on the shore of a small, man-made
lake in a neighborhood of similarly large, expensive homes. This
party was attended by quite a number of people and the band performed
inside the house on a balcony! There were even fireworks over the
lake after dark. During the evening, people were walking around
taking up collections to pay the band. (Which I found odd
considering there was already an agreement in place as to how much the
band would be paid.)
The band performed several sets and even played longer than
scheduled. (Don't give me any grief about us starting late.
It's not our fault you didn't arrange adequate parking for the band.)
There was an agreement in place for the band to be paid a certain amount
of money at the end of the performance. However, the amount of
money actually paid to the band was $100 less than the amount agreed
upon! Needless to say, the band was stunned! We had just
sweated our butts off performing for these people on a balcony in an
expensive home where the owner had built the garage deep enough so that
he could back his boat in while still attached to the trailer and he
can't come up with the money to adequately pay a band he had hired in
what we thought was good faith!?!?!?!? Fer cryin' out loud!
You can't complain that you couldn't afford the band, because the amount
was agreed upon BEFORE the fact. You knew full well how much it
was going to cost and you didn't flinch then. What could have
happened in the meantime?
Without mentioning any names, I just want to know, WHERE THE SCHNELL
IS MY MONEY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? |
